Wal-Martin

This is what happens when Brandon takes Caden to wal-mart while I'm at school! I thought it was really cute and had to share. Caden really wants a blue bicycle and a blue helment for Christmas!

Partied out.

You got it. I'm partied out. But not in the way you're probably thinking! We had a fun jam packed weekend! And I never thought I would be sick of eating and socializing, but today I am. We actually started out the weekend Thursday by celebrating G-daddy's birthday. Then Friday, we dropped Caden off at Mimi and Popsie's and Brandon and I headed to Big Spring Jam. We met up with some friends and had a great time. The best part was the food! They have all kinds of fattening goodies! You just can't beat funnel cakes, chicken on a stick, corn on a stick and much much more! Now, I was very disappointed in the music this year. They didn't have the christian stage and the bands we saw just stunk. But it was nice to have some grown up time! I always enjoy spending time with Brandon just him and I! And yes, we still act lovey dovey. The best part was sleeping in...Caden spent the night with my mom and dad so I actually got to sleep in, which rarely happens!

Then Saturday we had Brandon's family reunion, which I look forward to every year! There is so much food and we always leave there stuffed. This year there was lots of kids for Caden to play with. His family is so big and I still don't know everyone yet! It was a beautiful day and we had a blast! Caden really enjoyed jumping on the trampoline.

Saturday night we headed to our first annual neighborhood cookout! We just moved to our house in March, so we really didn't know many of the neighbors. We met so many sweet neighbors and I'm excited about getting to know everyone. We all decided to get together at least once a year to do this again! And we found out that our neighbors who live caddy corner to us have been going to our church for a couple months and we didn't even know it! We ate yummy food again and had a great time meeting everyone. Our good friends, who are also our neighbors across the street, came over afterwards for game night! We really enjoy game night with Curtis and Leah. We put Caden to bed and stayed up way to late playing Battle of the Sexes, and of course, us girls won! God is so good. I am reminded of his wonderful grace and blessings by how he let us live where we are! We didn't know a soul in our neighborhood because we were the first house. We are just so blessed with such awesome neighbors!

Yesterday, Sunday, was my 26th birthday! We went to church and stayed after for a cookout that my parent's connection class was having. So we ate again! Then Brandon's sweet parents came over and gave me my presents! Then we headed off again...but this time to the mall so I could do some birthday shopping! Brandon gave me a gift card to Bridgestreet and some killer Dolce&Gabbana sunglasses, he's an awesome hubby! I'm just like a little kid, you give me money and I want to spend it right away! So I indulged and bought myself some Christian Dior perfume and some new make-up! I rarely shop for myself, so this was certainly a treat! Then we met up with my mom for a wonderful birthday dinner at PF Changs! My dad had to miss it due to a business trip! Then we went to myparents for cake and icecream. I'm so thankful for wonderful family and everyone who made my birthday great! So needless to say, we're partied out. And my digital camera broke sat. so i had to take pictures with my cell phone. If anyone recommends a good camera, let me know. I'll be buying another one this week. I can't live without it! Here are two pictures from Sunday:

The Big 80!

Yesterday, Brandon's grandfather turned 80! Wow! I hope I live till I'm 80. We all went out and celebrated at his favorite restaurant, Catfish Cabin and then went back to their house for cake and icecream! A good time was had by all. Brandon's aunt and uncle even drove from Kentucky to celebrate and they brought the homemade yummy cake. Caden loved the icing and he was wired the rest of the night. Needless to say, he didn't go to bed on time! Caden sure does love granddaddy or as he calls him "da da". I'm so glad he's around to watch Caden grow up and its not often that kids still have great-grandparents! We love you G-daddy!

Some stuff going on around the house....

Ok here's some stuff that we are currently doing around the house:
1. Since I love love fall, I decided to decorate the house this year! Hobby Lobby had everything! They even had all their Christmas stuff out already, what happened to waiting after Thanksgiving? Anyways here are some pics of my decorated house.

2. We are in the process of fixing up Caden's room. He's still sleeping in a crib and its time for him to go to a big boy bed. I've been wanting to do the switch for awhile now, but keep finding myself procrastinating. I think b/c I don't want him to grow up. Finally last weekend we went to Lowe's and got the paint to paint the room and stayed up late Sat. night painting. He's still sleeping in his crib but with a pretty new paint color on the walls...haha! We are officially going to make the switch the first weekend in October. My sweet parents are graciously giving us Andrew's old bunk bed furniture. I just ordered his new bedding this past week so hopefully soon we'll have the room all done! I'll post the finished room as soon as we get it done. For now, here's a picture of the wall color.

And praise the Lord Caden is finally feeling better. He is back to his normal mischevious self...j/k. But actually this morning he decided to take his diaper off while he was playing in his room and peed all over the carpet. Ok I think its potty training time!

Ragweed or what?

So I really love fall and everything about it...the fairs, halloween, the weather, hay rides, etc. But there's one thing I don't like about fall...ragweed or whatever is making our allergies act up. Last Thursday Caden woke up with a 101 degree fever. I was sure he had a sinus infection. But to my surprise the doctor said he had an upper respiratory virus. The only thing I could do was to treat the symptoms. I didn't want to send him the school friday with the massive green snot, so he stayed home with me. I thought he was getting better....well Sat. he woke up with this horrible barking cough and snot everywhere. Off to the pharmacy I went to get him some cough syrup. Everytime I thought he was getting better he started with the snot again. So last night I had enough, and not to mention I was coming down with some kind of sinus junk myself. I decided I was going to call the doctor as soon as they opened. Poor Caden had to miss school again today:( Anyways I called and talked to one of the nurses and she told me she would talk to his doctor and call me back. She did call me back, but didn't tell me anything I wanted to hear. She proceeded to tell me that "he just had a nasty virus, and the only thing we could do was to treat the symptoms and let it run its course"! Ok so that really doesn't help me any. I think he has a sinus infection and I'm usually right. So do I call back and demand antibiotics or just sit and watch Caden blow enormous amounts of snot out his nose and cough up a storm? And to top off the day, I went to the dr. and I do have a sinus infection! But I requested a shot in my butt and I'm actually feeling much better. When your a mom, you don't have time to be sick. But for now, I'm blaming us being sick on the ragweed regardless if thats why we are sick or not! Why can't we just have fall without the allergy causing stuff?!
